The darkness subsided when she was around. She guided him to see his rage didn't need to be quelled, but given a more...creative outlet.
Fighting monsters was his drive. Helping her accomplish tasks she couldn't normally do because she's too much of a naive and bumbling fool to see when she was being taken advantage of...

She didn't bat a last when he told her that he killed his family. She hugged his arm and let him vent about what pieces of trash they were. How poorly they treated him. Helping him turn into the man he was...
His frustration always calmed by her body. How delicate she felt against him despite the pace he set. The intensity he wanted. He was surprised when she called the shots on him a few times.
They...complemented each other to the point he was dependent on his nurse. She kept the darkness away. Kept him somewhat sane and sated. Now...what now?
